Catholic Funeral Planning Guide

The Catholic Cemeteries Association has created a helpful book that will be an invaluable resource to Catholic families at the time of the loss of a loved one. This book, entitled “Catholic Record File,” allows families to record both personal and financial information that will be needed at the time of death and to ensure that the deceased’s affairs are carried out in an orderly fashion.

The booklet contains helpful information about Catholic burial and funeral traditions, social security benefits, veterans’ benefits, living wills, powers of attorney, wills and other issues that can cause complications at the time of death. For those individuals wishing to spare their family difficulty at the time of death, this book is a must. The booklet, along with information about Catholic burial and funeral options, is available free of charge.

When to Plan

At each of the cemeteries owned by The Catholic Cemeteries Association, a Family Service Representative is available to assist Catholic families who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. These individuals are specially trained to insure that the family receives all the information to which they are entitled, including all the burial options at the cemetery as well as information about the Church’s teachings regarding burial and funerals. They are knowledgeable about the cemetery and issues that families may not consider important at this difficult time.

Our goal is to guarantee the highest level of customer service before, during and after the burial and to be available to the family to answer any questions they may have. Through this personal approach, we can clearly focus on each family’s needs and desires at the time of their loss.
