A Journey of Faith

Important new advance planning options for Catholics who want to plan their funeral and burial in the Catholic tradition

WE Begin our journey of faith with Christ and His Church at Baptism when we are marked with the sign of faith. We were clothed in a white garment as a symbol of our Christian dignity and as an outward sign that we are a new creation in Christ.

Our journey through this life ends in death, when we enter a new life - eternal life in Christ.

Just as the Church was present when we began our journey of faith in Baptism, it is only fitting that the Church also accompany us at the time of death, offering prayers for our journey and comfort to those we leave behind.

Preplanning for the final stage of our journey in faith is one way to prepare for death, and relieve our loved ones of those details at the time of their loss. Now there is a diocesan-approved program that respects the unique needs of a Catholic family at the time of death, and ensures that the deceased will receive all the traditional rites and blessings of the Church to which they are entitled.

By enrolling in the Catholic Funeral Plan, you clearly communicate your wishes to be buried in the Catholic tradition. The Catholic Funeral Plan ensures that our journey of faith, which began in Baptism, ends in Christian burial.

Catholic Burial

It is still the mark of a devout and faithful Catholic to provide that his or her remains are buried in conformity with the faith, and the norms of the Church, in a cemetery where the whole church offers prayers for eternal rest and peace.

Catholic cemeteries exist to perform the Corporal Work of Mercy of burying the dead, and to care for their resting places in a manner that reflects the dignity of the human person, and our belief that, one day our mortal bodies will be raised up by Christ on the last day.
